Dance Reflection 6:
The Buzz and the Bees
Our interactive Drama Workshop
The Guidelines:
- Right to Pass - Group agreement - No one gets hurt - Nothing gets broken
It is important to deliver guidelines to students, as it is their own personal success criteria to engaging in a fun game. Students need this structure within the classroom to help facilitate their own creative strategies in a safe and inclusive manner.
The Bees and the Other Bees
- 20,000 types of bees
- Have been admired throughout history
- Bees pollinate our food and make our world more colourful.
- Bees also pollinate food that is fed to other animals.
- Bees are an important part of our ecosystem.
- Bees make Honey
We learned a lot about bees this week! In fact, I learned that there were 20,000 types of bees, yet most people can only name a few. How wild! My elementary partner was both excited and engaged, and he seemed to retain a lot of the facts introduced about bees. I thought this was astonishing, and it provided me with an experience that reminded me why I chose the profession of teaching.
Groups:
- We used our role play strategies to work in groups
- Our groups enacted the previous dance steps taught in this lesson with the elementary students to produce an interactive time, and a fun learning atmosphere for the little ones. I know my group had a great time!
Thats all for now!! BEE the change you want to see in the world!!!
